How our journey began

Brittany Coleman is a dedicated children's book author originally from Little Rock, Arkansas, and currently residing in Benton. She has published five books: My Little Angel, Who Will Love Me, I Am Not Afraid, A Gift for Christmas, and Corporate Hustle for Kids. Brittany holds a Bachelor’s degree in Science with a specialization in respiratory therapy, an Associate of Arts degree, and an evangelism certification.

Brittany's journey with autism began when her son was diagnosed with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) at the age of six. Faced with the challenges of understanding his triggers, she took it upon herself to research the factors that affect children with autism, discovering that sensory issues were a common concern. This insight inspired her to create The Calming Canvas, a safe and sensory-friendly space for children facing similar challenges. Her goal is to provide a nurturing environment where kids with sensory disabilities can feel a sense of belonging and to reassure families that they are not alone on this journey.
